It is a very long story about how I ended up with all my stuff in a hotel in the first place but this is for another post. If you’re following me on instagram, you might already know.
Since I caught a cold a few days ago, I am in the hotel all day and not in the office. That is why I was here when the fire alarm started this morning in the first place. Wish I wasn’t.
And how stupid that might sound, before leaving my room I just grabbed whatever I thought of first. Now some hours later (and thank god there was no fire at all) my choices kind of made me laugh.
This is why I am sharing that photo above with you all and why I will tell you what went down in my mind.
So one of the funniest things with that story is my outfit. Yeah really. Sick in bed, I was wearing pajamas of course and some thick and warm socks. Totally ugly, but comfy. My hair was knotted up and I wore a hand band with a bow since my moisturizing mask was still soaking in. Yay. When the alarm started and I realized I seriously had to leave, I panically grabbed a jacket and a scarf and threw on the most summer like sneakers I could find. Yep. It’s October, 8 degrees and the sky is as grey as can be. And I threw on pink, light sneakers over that really thick socks. I just totally rock panic styling, don’t you think?
What I grabbed
Okay now about what went down in my brain after the seconds I chose my perfect fire alarm outfit. I immediately grabbed my biggest Neverfull (the MM size) and some of the things like the Pochette, Keys, Wallet and stuff were already in it. The Frog is basically the first thing I grabbed in my emotional downwards spiral. No, I am not embarrassed because that frog is my emotional everything since the day I was born. Then I went on to the desk to grab what was on there. The bear is one of my lucky charms, he basically wrote every exam with me when I did my master degree and the purse with my fountain pens is also very important to me. Why did I grab my glasses when I actually need them 10% of the time? Because I historically thought: “They’re YSL and the case is Chanel!!!!”. I have no regrets. Okay that Benefit Bag. It contains all of the lipsticks I have with me because I had no place to store them and also a new mascara, eyeliner and some perfume samples. I had no makeup on in that moment so of course I had to grab all that. Afterwards I immediately grabbed my MAC foundation because… wtf of course you need make-up when you’re outside in pajamas! Let me tell you that I searched for the sponge. Seriously. I was looking for the sponge because how else would I apply that damn foundation!? Also on the desk was my Dior perfume and my Louis Vuitton Agendas. I just packed them, because why not. I was already out of my mind, so hey.
I am very very glad that in the end nothing really happened. I still don’t know if it only was a drill or what happened, but okay. I just find it very ironic what I grabbed. If I would have lost everything and was left with the things that I had on me, I would basically be very screwed. No clothes, no serious shoes. At least I could have bathed in Dior. I didn’t even had a bra on, which I realized when I came back to the room. Classy. I am curious what they would say in the office about a total pajamas look and full make-up on while wearing pink sneakers with my Neverfull.
A few weeks ago I got the Ratio Notebook and the Daily Review Planner from Rama Publishing as a PR sample. The Rama pen holder clip was added as an extra gift. I was so happy when I was asked if I wanted to try the products because I had been following Rama Publishing on Instagram for quite a while admiring the amazing notebook that was especially created for law students!
My latest blog collaboration was with Tosave which is a shopping site similar to Wish, the system is comparable to Amazon. The products are asian production and come with a very low cost.
The costs of the products can be very attractive.
I choose three clothing items since I was very curious about the quality and two beauty products because I am a fan of face masks and asian beauty products are said to be very good.
The first item I chose was a knitted sweater with reindeers on it. I thought it would be perfect for Christmas but that didn’t work since the parcel came by the end of January (two months after it was sent unfortunately).
I am normally wearing S but since I know that clothes from Asia tend to be a bit smaller, I choose M. As you can see I chose well and it fits perfectly.I really like the style of this sweater since I am a big fan of cute shirts and sweaters and it is also warm. The sweater costs 11,80 $ which is a bargain.
The thing I am a bit skeptical about is: There were no tags on the sweater, no label. According to the website the sweater is 100% cotton but I can’t see it on the sweater. Also I am not a fan of not knowing were clothes are made, so I wish there were some information.
The second item I choose was a very cute plaid dress in red which I also had in mind for Christmas since red is a total Christmas color to me. Anyways I also wear red the year around, so no big deal.
I also chose M here and it fits, but could be 1-2cm longer.
It costs 9,85 $ and is also a super bargain since it is 100% linen and it actually truly is! The dress was the only clothing item that had tags on it and information about washing it. So this is what I missed with the sweater, some tag to tell the material and how to handle it when cleaned.
As I said the dress is 100% linen, so it is very thin and needs something underneath because it might be see-through standing in front of light. I can think of a beautiful winter styling with black tights, overknee boots and a cardigan. I will actually style it that way soon and post an outfit post with it.
The third and last clothing item I chose is a plain loose short sleeve T-shirt in beige for 5,25 $.
With the shirt I actually made a mistake with the size. Tosave offers charts under the item description where you can see what the sizes actually mean and out of habit I also took M. The shirt is short in the front and a bit longer in the back. It also has cuts on both sides. So the shirt is not too small, but I would have liked to wear it with leggings and it is too short for that, also the side cuts are very high, so it needs a top underneath. Otherwise it would reveal way too much.
No tags with the shirt, so same thing as the sweater. The website also says cotton and that might be true but no signs of how to clean it or where it actually comes from. It just looks different from what I saw on the website, so that is actually an item I won’t be wearing since it is too small for me and I am also not a fan of the thin material.
